Jérémie Barral is responsible for the “Neural coding in the auditory system” team, aiming to understand how the brain is able to perceive and analyze complex sounds.
Sound processing starts in the inner ear, where the cochlear breaks down complex acoustic stimuli into elementary frequencies.
How these frequencies are represented in the brain is a key question in the field of hearing and neuroscience in general.
